The Micro-Placements Programme offers opportunities for students who want to explore careers different from those traditionally associated with their degree.
Micro-Placements are an exciting way to gain professional experience via short summer placements with a wide range of London-based employers.
The aim of the programme is to give you real-life exposure to the business environment and enhance your employability skills. The Micro-Placements Programme is a 15-credit elective module. All placements will be 140 hours across a minimum of 4 weeks.
Hear directly from one of your peers, Kishan Chatwal, on how completing a micro-placement supported his employability.
Preparing you for your future career. This is City.
A few of our former Micro-Placement students had this to say about their experience on the Micro-Placements Programme:
The Micro-Placements recruitment process is an excellent experience for students applying to the Programme. It enables students to apply and develop their employability skills such as communication, written, teamwork and independent skills all throughout the process! Even if you’re not accepted on the Programme for a work placement, the procedure is intellectually demanding that you will still have gained skills that can be used for future.
My Micro-Placement experience was in summary, enriching and reflective of real-life work procedures and experiences. The highlight of this entire experience for me, was the Assessment Centre. Being able to communicate with like-minded and driven individuals within a competitive, fast-paced environment, motivated and reassured me in my working abilities. I was provided with constructive, detailed feedback following the Assessment Centre and ended up attaining a Micro-Placement.
My Micro-Placement experience was in summary, enriching and reflective of real-life work procedures and experiences.
The Micro-Placement recruitment process was incredibly useful. I was able to get into another work experience opportunity because of the skills that I had developed. It was a time of my life that I will always cherish and remember.
