City’s Covid-19 Statistics help us to track the impact of coronavirus (Covid-19) on our campus and amongst our staff and student community. The cases recorded here include those members of our community who are studying or working remotely and those who are studying or working on campus.

- City is a community of 20,000 students and 2,000 staff.
- The statistics show the number of people who have received a positive Covid-19 test in the last 7 days.
- They also show how many of those people had visited our campus in the 14 days prior to their positive test.
- The data is obtained from those staff and students who have reported a positive test to the University using our agreed process.
- The page is updated once a week on a Friday.
If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus (Covid-19), get a test as soon as possible and stay at home until you get the result.
To help us track the impact of Covid-19 in our community and to provide support, we expect all students and staff to notify us if they receive a positive Covid-19 test, if they are self-isolating or if they have symptoms of Covid-19 (a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss or change to their sense of smell or taste).
Students should fill out the student notification form and staff should fill out the Staff Notification form.
How City is responding to cases
City has procedures in place to respond to reported cases of Covid-19 when an individual has been on campus.
This includes tracking and tracing other students and staff who may have been in close contact with the individual as well as deep cleaning spaces they have used with antiviral disinfectant as part of City’s enhanced cleaning programme.
We are also contacting each person to offer them support while they are self-isolating.
Working together to keep our City community safe
While the majority of teaching is being delivered online, City has put safety measures in place to welcome some of our students and staff back to campus.
All members of City’s community will need to work together to keep each other safe when on campus. Please make sure you read the safety measures City has implemented to help ensure social-distancing and hygiene guidelines are followed.
If you do return to campus, you will see new signage throughout the University detailing the safety measures that we have put in place – as well as the key actions that we’re asking all students, staff and visitors to adopt in order to keep themselves and each other safe. This includes wearing a face covering unless you are exempt, washing or sanitising your hands regularly and social distancing.
